World club championship comes to Diamante in 2012

The World Club Championship Committee has extended an invitation to Diamante Cabo San Lucas to host one of the most prestigious amateur golf tournaments in the world. This event takes place in the fall 2012 and it will be the 10th anniversary of the Championship, which has been previously hosted in the United States, Korea and China. The WCC celebrates two of golf’s greatest enduring traditions: amateur golfers and the world-class clubs to which they belong. Considered one of the most coveted amateur events in golf, WCC is often compared to the Walker Cup and Ryder Cup. The event features head-to-head competition by the world’s top clubs chosen from GOLF Magazine’s Top 100 Courses in the World. Past champions represent golf clubs from Sunningdale GC in England, Kingston Heath GC in Australia, Royal Portrush GC in Northern Ireland, Pine Valley GC and Los Angeles CC in the United States, and Durban CC in South Africa. The 90-minute Championship telecast airs repeatedly on the Golf Channel throughout the world in prime time and on Sky TV. It will be an honor for Diamante to host the 2012 Championship, bringing guests from the world golf club community to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

GOLF Magazine – Official Announcement of the Top 100

GOLF Magazine has announced the Top 100 Courses in the World for 2011, and Diamante is ranked 58th Best Golf Course in the World! In October 2012, Diamante will host an invitation-only event in recognition of this achievement. David Clarke, Executive Editor of GOLF Magazine, will be our guest of honor at this special celebration.
 

Grand Opening with Davis Love III

Diamante Cabo San Lucas celebrated the opening of the Dunes Course Jan. 22-24 2010, with a weekend hosting sales prospects, members of the press, local officials and course designer Davis Love III. The weekend was a success, and the feedback from those who attended has been tremendous. The event kicked off Friday at sunset with a welcome reception at Diamante’s Dunes Cantina where approximately 125 guests were treated to a Mexican themed night filled with great local dishes and a festive Mariachi band. Saturday started with a golf tournament comprised of 66 players that was highlighted with Davis Love III going around the course playing a hole with everyone who attended. While golf was the main attraction, we also offered beach activities such as horseback riding, ATV rides, spa treatments and tours of the property. Approximately 200 guests arrived for the Saturday night party held on the event lawn and inside the Cantina. Guests were treated to a wonderful dining experience with food stations of seafood and beef dishes prepared by Diamante’s executive chef. The evening’s ceremony included speeches from the developer Ken Jowdy and course designer Davis Love III. The evening was capped off with a great performance from a talented local band that had the dance floor packed all night long.
